MAGPS Roundtable Presentation

Illuminating Possibilities: Liberation-Oriented Group Psychotherapy with Laura Bruco, MSW, LICSW

Sunday January 12, 2025
3:00-5:00 PM

Please join us online for the first MAGPS Roundtable of 2025! In this 2-hour presentation we'll explore group work through a liberation lens, using concepts from diverse ways of knowing, from fiber arts to quantum mechanics, to spark expansive thinking about the potential of group therapy and to rethink traditional ideas of diversity, inclusion, safety and group norms.  The aim is not to prescribe, but to illuminate possibilities for growth and transformation in ourselves and in our clients.

Laura Bruco, MSW, LICSW is a self-described liberation-oriented group psychotherapist practicing in Washington State via telehealth from their home in South Dakota in the ancestral lands of the Oceti Sakowin, also known as the Seven Council Fires, a confederation of Dakota, Nakota, and Lakota Sioux tribes.  Laura received a BA in Sociology from George Washington University with a concentration in race and race relations. They received  an MSW from Smith College for Social Work. Laura is neurospicy, disabled, and queer.
