We hope MAGPS’ listserv will provide a useful and informative means of communicating with your fellow MAGPS members!

Lively and candid exchanges are encouraged; however as with any community, there are also rules governing the forum. Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important rules and etiquette. If you have questions, please contact MAGPS directly at webmaster@magps.org.

Listserv Etiquette and Rules

·        Be courteous and don’t challenge or attack others. The discussions on the lists are meant to stimulate conversation, not create contention. Let others have their say, just as you may.

·        Commercial messages may be posted on Wednesdays only. This includes workshops, books, offices for rent, group openings and supervision offerings.

·        Email is not confidential. Any clinical information should be thoroughly cleansed of identifying information before being posted. Please do not transmit any content that you do not have a right to transmit.

·        Sharing or exchanging information about fees charged in a member's practice may be an antitrust law violation, as price-fixing, and therefore is prohibited.

·        All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are prohibited. Do not transmit any content that is defamatory, vulgar, or illegal. Discussion as to whether a particular individual should be expelled from MAGPS membership is also prohibited.

·        Remember that MAGPS and other email list participants have the right to reproduce postings to the listserv.

·        Include a signature tag on all messages. Include your name, affiliation, location, and email address.

·        State concisely and clearly the specific topic of the comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.

·        Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals - not to the entire list. Do this by scrolling down to the links at the bottom of the message where you can reply to the individual directly.
